Imagine the past – collecting the future
Art Director: Paulina Tsvetanova / Fotos: Anka BardelebenPieces from Paulina’s lovingly- and selectively-curated vintage collection from decades past will be photographed on our vibrant and unique friends. Each photo will capture the character, personality and authenticity of our beloved pieces and models. Each wearer combines the clothing and artwork with a special place of inspiration in Berlin, which is tailored to the model and the pieces he/she is wearing. Places of nostalgia, of hip urbanity, important cultural sites, places of historical remembrance, alternative places, mysterious, mystical places, the richness and diversity of the many faces of Berlin … A city whose only constant is constant change. The timeless elements of each outfit have their own distinctive story. And through their radiance and energy, the models display their own personal, emotional histories. The selected vintage fashion is paired with applied art (jewelery art) or other visual art objects in a thoughtful composition.
An artistic mixture of historical elements with extravagant clothing, rounded off by a sophisticated photographic staging offers the highest level of perspective in both time and space.
SERENDIPITY
Art Director: Paulina Tsvetanova / Fotos: Anka BardelebenGarments take on a new, ambivalent meaning through the conscious staging with visual and applied art and everyday objects. The setting-box structure lends a uniform order to these artful, curious things. This is about a stylized, artistic, poetic performance of clothing pieces, which thereby gain more vitality and dynamism. The compositions are diverse and full of humorous surprises. It creates the feeling of harmony, but also of faux pas and irritations, almost absurdities. A game with the reality, synaesthesia & synergy of colors, shapes, fabrics, surfaces and the spontaneous addition of things. A deconstruction of the usual visual habits is achieved through condensation and abstraction. In the slow-paced viewing of the “sets”, one learns to re-live reality through a new, more authentic perspective, in order to discover connections between things that are mostly invisible and non-descript. A world full of treasures opens up when we practice a childish, playful and curious approach. This almost meditative process enables us to feel the contemplative majesty behind the reality of tangible things.
