StrassElectronicArt

In the beginning there was curiosity about how the marvelous things that turned into waste, such as mobile phones, computers, digital cameras and laptops look like from the inside. There are aesthetics, precision, beauty and complexity to be found. Boards, light sensors, chips, processors, laser lenses, and rosettes from the drives pushing themselves towards new forms and shapes. Music, conversations, expressions of love, lyrics, poems, prose, nonsense, philosophy, images of happiness, tenderness and drama reside in the processors, laser sights, the sensors’ optics. Their previous lives have cultural codes and stories to tell. Rhinestone gems from a closed factory ignite the fire of their light-cascades. They form bright highlights for letters, numbers, fishes and objects: From these materials arise new forms, connections, networks – from trash to treasure

Multimedia Installation, Video, Sound, Embroidery, Painting

Nargis artistic practice encompasses conceptual installations, which include sound, mixed media, embroidery, geometrical metal structures, but also painting, drawing and tapestry– all connected by one single desire – to see the nature of things and to uncover the truth behind a phenomena. On this quest she explores subjects that seem unrelated at first sight and discovers links between concepts that bring her closer to their hidden nature. Whether abstract, figurative or ornamental, she starts with visible lines and enters hidden realms. In her large scale, heavily layered abstractions, flowing lines of saturated colors give birth to rough forms. In successive series, going from large scale to small, from combinations to single colors, she explores the emotional connection between the work and the viewer as well as the viewer’s perception influenced by the artwork. Going from object to space, from color to texture, from obvious to invisible her works transmit meanings that have no known coded alphabet. The strength of her work stems from the drive to express emotions and their meaning that cannot be pinned down into words. Nargis’ works succeed where language fails.

MILLE FIABE

MILLE FIABE stands for exclusive home ornaments – extravagant interior decorations that offer a doorway to utopian and humorous worlds and reveal astonishing scenes. These designer objects play with the dreams and desires of the viewer, awakening the powers of the imagination. At the same time, opposites are united in their most beautiful form: the world of dreams and reality, miniature and infinite, purism and opulence. This is what makes MILLE these home ornaments far more than simple decorations – they will enchant, surprise and inspire you. In designing and crafting these ornaments, MILLE FIABE pays great attention to perfect design, originality and versatility. The filigree components are refined by hand in the Tübingen workshop and assembled into exclusive interior decorations. The MILLE FIABE brand – whose name means “a thousand fairy-tales” – was created by Katrin Ruoffner and launched in 2015. The young designer had returned to Tübingen, her hometown, after working for several years as a Colour & Trim Designer for renowned carmakers – latterly in the luxury segment. She wanted at last to realise her long-standing dream of establishing her own design brand for exclusive miniature worlds. In her workshop, she has since then devoted her attention exclusively to the MILLE FIABE objets d’art. Katrin Ruoffner draws her inspiration from all realms of creative activity: art, literature, fashion, interior design and architecture. The MILLE FIABE brand is devoted to timeless values, such as excellence and individuality, which find expression both in the filigree hand-crafted objects and the close bond she enjoys with her customers. The unique home accessories – the exclusive “home ornaments” – by MILLE FIABE are unlike any other product. They invite viewers to embark on a journey of adventure through the world of their own imagination.

Princesses and Saints

Justyna Koeke is internationally renowned for her bold performances, in which she examines critically topics such as gentrification, church and age. In „Princesses and Saints“ she transforms childhood fantasies into wearable sculptures, as well as fashion shows in performances. As a child, the artist painted her heroines, princesses and saints, together with her sisters. She created a real collection of brightly colored outfits full of bizarre details. On the bodies of aged women the tailor-made fantasies awake to life. The collection „Princesses and Saints“ includes childish, frank drawings to photographs with the costumed models in front of their seniors residence to ebullient fashion shows. A humorous and at the same time critical approach to the context of childisch dreams and seniors reality. In our more and more aging society these questions always resonate. Justyna Koeke’s art exists at the interface between sculpture, performance and allusions to the fashion world. The artistic project was shown at the alternative Berlin Fashion Week Berlin.

GOSSAMER WOOD-POETRY

Wood and craft are Patrick Rapp’s passion. All of his pieces are handcrafted from thin sheets of fresh wood. Completely unique forms develop in the drying process. Cracks or “defects” emphasize the unique character of each piece and tell a story that we do not know, but that we can see.
